This book is full of stories for reading circles and I think this week has been really interesting because I never comment a lot the books I read with other people and I liked to know the different points of view. My favourite story in the book was Callus, the first we read.
I like it because the final is clear but a little bit open, so you can imagine what is going to happen next and also it talked a lot about the feelings of the two main characters and their point of view of the new sitiation that is coming to their house.
The story is about a Chinese woman who is thinking about her life with his husband, she love him and they have a shop together, but the husband is going to marry again, he wanted two wives and he never asked the Chinese woman about her feeling because the Chinese woman musn't talk about it. Finally he leaves the house ready to marry and the Chinese woman stayed there, sad because she loved him.
There is also a big connection of this story with life and is that is refered to polygamy. I think is a critic about the feelings of the woman who are married with a man that has more wives, but I'm not sure.
My favourite passage is: 'She couldn't ask him not to go. People would say that she was wrong even to ask him.' Because at first you don't realize the preassure that she suffers, but finally she didn't tell him.
In this story there are only two main characters and between them, I'd choose the woman. Because I think that he could understand her situation and that she can't talk about her feelings, but he doesn't even care and I don't like that, but he's not a bad person.
With this story you learn and understand more about this different cultures that we don't know a lot.
Reading this I have learned also some new words that I haven't heard.
In my opinion is a very good story that I would recommend because is short, easy to understand, interesting and well-written.

The best International Restaurant
This was a project that we did for the English class. It consisted in research info about the nutrition, diet and recipes of different countries in the world that we had to choose and then cook a recipe for the restaurant that we opened in class.
First we had to look for the information about the diet of the country chosen and do a fact file about it with all the characteristics and traditions. The objective was to decide if it was a balance diet or not and write two traditional recipes of the country. My country was Indonesia and the recipes were Opor Solo and Crab soup.
Then, when we all finished the research, we worked in groups. In my group we were 6 people, María, Andrea, Sonia, Nacho, Miguel Ángel and me. We changed information about our different countries like the fact file, the diets and the recipes. Finally we agree in the two more interesting countries that were England and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The best recipes of these countries were Fairy Cakes (England) and Kuku Paka (Congo).
The power point was about one country, so we chose England. We spoke about all the research that we did, the nutritional values of the recipe, how we cooked and why we chose the country. At first Sonia and me had to do the presentation, but finally we recorded our recipe, passed the video to Andrea and she did all the presentation.
The video experience was the best. We divided the group into two parts because we were a lot of people to cook in one kitchen. In my part we were Sonia, Miguel Ángel and me and in the other part were Andrea, María and Nacho. We cooked Fairy Cakes in Sonia's house and we had a lot of fun. All of us did a different part of the recipe explaning it while other person was recording him. The recipe was easy to do and when we finished we tried and it was very good. I think this was the best part of the project because we had to work together a lot, so we know each other a little bit more and have fun.
For me it was a very good experience because we learn a lot about other countries traditions, how to interpret a recipe in english, how to work in groups and we tried a lot of new food and almost all of it was very good.

Short story
Tomorrow
is my brother's birthday and my family
and me are looking for a good present. My grandmother
loves the complements made of feathers,
but my father don't. Some friends are
going to the party so I'm going to buy
it with them. They
thought that a leather
jacket would be a good idea, this is a
good present.

Xmas Decoration
The
decoration in all the holidays is very typical because it creates an atmosphere
in the streets and the main places of a city or town that shows the part of
the year we are and that is a very special date.
The
decoration of Christmas in the streets is very bright because of all the
different lights and their colour and the decoration in houses are
more related to the day when Jesus was born. I'm going to speak about
the decoration in the streets of Seville.
In
the streets normally the messages of the light-cartel are: Happy
Christmas or draws of the Three Wise Men, reindeer and snow because
the cold is always related to this holiday. There are also
illuminated important buildings like the 'Giralda' and important
squares like 'Plaza Nueva' and 'El Prado'.
There
are a lot of places that are illuminated in the world to celebrate
the Christ's born, but here in Seville we have a lot of beautiful
monuments that are decorated, Christmas trees and a lot of tradition.

My Self-Portrait
I'm
Matti, this is an opinion of myself and my life. The picture that you
can see is the mixture of the important things that are around me.
My
family and friends are the most important people in my life. In my
family we are six: my parents, my sister, my brother and my aunt.
They are very nice, but sometimes my brother and my sister makes me
nervous. My best friends are four girls that are in my class, their
names are: Sonia, Ana, Manuela and Julia. When we are together, we
always have a good time and laugh a lot.
My
favourite hobby is the music. I like to sing and to listen to
different types of music, the ones that I like the most are rock,
pop, punk and metal. The sports that I like the most are basketball
and swimming but I don't practise a lot sport because I don't have
much time.
Of
my personality I could say that I'm friendly and kind, but I'm not
imaginative at all. This is me and part of my life.
Making Scary Movies
This
project has been one of the best projects I did. It's hard to invent
and perform, but you can have a good time with friends and also it
improves English.
First
the teacher told us that we had to make a scary film because we were
in Halloween. To have an idea of what elements we have to include in
our films we watched "Vincent", the short film of Tim
Burton. Then, we started to write the draft.
When
we had to write the draft all of us provide a little story, so we did
a mixture of all the good ideas of each person. So that's why we have
a lot of magic creatures like the vampire, the ghost or the zombies,
but the most difficult part of the writing was the scrip. It's very
long because you have to put all the indications of the story and all
the dialogues, also for us was more difficult because during the
shooting of the film we improvised some phrases, so we had to do it
using the sound.
The
part that I enjoyed the most was performing. It's a little bit
difficult because in this type of films you has to be very serious
and, when you see a friend dress up as a zombie and doing zombie
sounds you laugh a lot and you have to repeat the same scene again.
But I think that we did it the best that we could and all of us have
an important role in the story. Also is important to speak clear,
loud and the body language, we needed to repeat a lot of scenes
because of the sound.
At
the end we finished the film, edit it and then we showed it in class.
This project has been a little bit hurt but the important thing is
the personal satisfaction that you feel when you see the film and you
like it. Here is the link to our film
